The Burns and Allen Show | Episode 003 – Gracie Wins Wisconsin | B4TV Radio Comedy Theater

B4TV Radio Comedy Theater continues with George Burns and Gracie Allen in the classic Burns and Allen episode “Gracie Wins Wisconsin.”

This one comes from the wonderfully ridiculous “Gracie Allen for President” era, when Gracie ran under the fictional Surprise Party banner during the 1940 election year. It was pure Burns and Allen nonsense — and somehow, beautifully, it became enough of a national comedy stunt that Gracie actually received write-in votes. That is not a punchline. That is America having a moment.

In “Gracie Wins Wisconsin,” George once again tries to keep the broadcast somewhere near reality while Gracie’s campaign logic turns politics into a vaudeville fever dream. It is fast, silly, topical, and exactly the kind of radio comedy that shows why Burns and Allen could make one absurd premise carry an entire nation along for the ride.

Presented by B4TV — bringing the Golden Age of Radio back on the air, one campaign promise Gracie probably misunderstood at a time.
