The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes :: The Terrifying Cats

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson find that even a holiday in Rome cannot keep murder from crossing their path.

In “The Terrifying Cats,” a strange case draws Holmes into a mystery where fear, superstition, and danger seem to gather around a group of ominous cats. What begins as an unsettling curiosity soon sharpens into something far more sinister, forcing Holmes to separate gothic imagination from cold, calculated crime.

Starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes, with Eric Snowden appearing as Dr. Watson, this 1946 episode of The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes brings a darker, more atmospheric flavor to the classic radio mystery format — exotic setting, creeping suspicion, and just enough feline menace to keep the room watching the shadows.
